I would have loved to see a graphic novel a la G.I. Joe or Sergeant Rock. As well, a SAT AM cartoon in the style of Sonic the Hedgehog [the SAT AM one] would have been totally worth waking up early for.
A Starfox-style rails shooter would have been pretty cool, though I dunno how it would have fit story-wise.

Actually, just about EVERYTHING in the game is copyrighted, if not Trademarked.
but to who? Digital Cafe? the company that was chex before GM (whose name escapes me)? GM seems to do nothing but know about the chexquest.com domain name. and we've been a bit worried about the fact that GM MIGHT see something in this old game and take it from us. which is still kindof an issue, but we will NEVER know!
So first we'd have to contact General Mills (have we tried that before?), and then credit them for just about everything....><

and there is a problem with contacting GM. They could go over Chukker's head and sell CQ3, and pretty much rip all the fan projects to pieces, forcing us to remove everything "chex" from it. They could even stop us from being the CQFF.

What would be awesome, is a Trading Card game sorta like ZDoom Wars! There are different factions: Chex Quest, DooM, HeXen, Strife, maybe Wolf3D or Duke3D...and each with their own maps (on cards), weapons, and characters! Then, booster packs could be CQ: Generation 2, Quake/DooM 3, Heretic, etc. And maybe there could be properties that work with more than one faction, like DECORATE scripting or teamfrags! That would be awesome! :)

Well there you go! Everything could be emulated with a synthesizer, though I'd use a real drum kit and bass for better sound. If you needed more parts for the drums, just add some synth stuff.
And examining the MIDI file in XWE or Anvil would show you what's used (if you didn't do that already)
Also, I'd buy a super bootspork spaghetti twirler.
I'm thinking the soundtrack idea would work, but I would like to see some professional remixes on there too.
That's what we're talking about. Getting a band to actually record some stuff.
It wouldn't be THAT hard, actually. The MIDI file would provide the notation (as well as some improv by the musicians)....and we could have some rockin' CQ!

well, cc...you're in a band, arent you? if you can get me drums, bass, and another lead (seperate tracks, mp3 would be great), I could integrate it into one of my remakes. Any part that could be good synthesized i could run via Sytrus or other, and just apply a tad bit of cushion (or echo) and a few effects, and we got it!

That's very true. I AM in a band, I play keyboard, we have guitar, bass, drums, and even vocals, but our singer can do guitar too...at the very least, i'll try one of the leads on my keyboard. If I can get my band together (remixing a song from a 90s video game...ftw or lol? XD), even better.

I might try E3M1 first. Get some synth stuff down, I actually might be able to do the bass myself, as I play it, but I might need outside help (aka my band) on guitar, and drums if we can record a drum track.
EDIT: Been playing around with the MIDI, getting some stuff down...I might do E2M3. The bassline is pretty sweet, and I've got it down on both bass and keys. The melody's good too.
