Title: Editions of E1M1 - E1M9 (Outdated)
Post by: arch129 on September 29, 2008, 10:38:52 PM
Most of you know about that work is being done to edit the orignal levels to take advantage of GZDooMs new effects and just to make them better. ^^
If theres any thing you want to be changed or added to a level that has been made (E1M1 - E1M9) speak out now!

I got one request...USE DYNAMIC LIGHTING TO THE FULLEST. Combined with your mapping, it gives it all a nice next gen feel that rocks...my only request :D

Hey everyone, I'm going to remake E1M9 and I have no idea what to make it.

Any suggestions, ideas?

Might I suggest the WARP feature in the ANIMDEFS lump?

Are your sure?
I was once thinking of doing a train/subway parking lot thingy, or a deep forest/jungle level.

I was thinking of more of what theme the level should be, but thanks anyways. ^^

OH! Your question had NO indication thats what you wanted!

Well, how about a cool challenge? An underground museum. (We have one here, and its REALLY neat...but it colapsed awhile back, but was finally repaired and restored...I think)

And a forest/jungle level is ALWAYS hard...if you can keep the right feel w/o losing gameplay, DO IT.

If you're going for that "brano" feel...do a jungle temple, something maya styled. ALWAYS fun to play in a pyramid...

I'd love a train/subway style level!

A first level that isn't impossible to complete.
Seriously, how?

He thinks the maps are too hard to complete.
BTW, Zorchdude...have you tried Slime's levels? talk about incompleteable. Took me FOREVER to do it w/o cheats.

these are completeable, it just requires precision control. AKA mouse. I havent won w/o mouse.

Remove that HOM area. Seriously. I can assure you that using HOM's in your level is the #1 noob crime.

No, it's not that it's hard to beat without god on. I can't for the love of my life complete E1M1 without using noclip! d***it!
At least Slime's levels can be beaten without noclip...

I've never had problems beating E1M1 without cheating all of the times that I've played arch129's levels. I have a hunch on where you get stuck. Perhaps arch129 will be gracious enough to help you. >:D

E1M1 is not imposible, I think I know what you are talking about,.
I'm sure that your stuck at the blue doors but you don't have a blue key right? Theres a switch you can toggle by shoting at it to open one of the blue doors.

Well how are you supposed to know that? Make it the 'use' button instead of shooting. Or better yet, have it as an actual, non-blue door!

Sorry, but this is really one of those things that makes me ARNGY. And yes I spelt it like that on purpouse.

Calm down.  Games like this are supposed to be fun and give you a bit of a challenge, MAP30 of TNT for example.  You're just supposed to experiment around with this stuff.

In the new version I'm working on it so its a bit more easier to see that you need to shoot it.
Now please calm down, its just a game. ^^

If you've ever mapped with the shootable switches, you know how funny it is...ESPECIALLY secret doors...just a thought.

plus, if I cant find anything else to do, I shoot.
