I was thinking about making my MOD in MMF2 but I need strife's help... I am only a intermediate user, and he's probably advanced or expert in MMF...

wait wait wait...your gonna do a DooM TC in MMF??? That would help your skilz in the program, but it also might be unnecessary. How hard is it to build a first person shooter in MMF?

I figured out how to make a first person shooter in MMF2 but am unable to figure out how to make moving sprites... I'll have to ask for help from ether strife or some guys on another board...
Well, even if it turns out DooM 32x style (look it up), id love to see something standalone.
I may not be able to do somthing standalone. I would have to do more work, and I don't know if it's worth it to make an entirely new engine...

ALPHA 9 IS HERE! You can get it from Annihilation Softwares webpage...
My suggestion: Get the CQROTQ + Annihiltion OS... Plus download some other games... They are fun! The OS launches all the games and the update to Alpha 9 creates the WAD in the OS folder...
AOS? An actual OS or just a launcher, and does it run doom?
What I meant about standalone, it'd be better to put CQ in one excutable...but thats not what you're doing! You're taking an established IWAD and putting it to CQ...Nvrmind. If you were making a from scratch cq game, a standalone would be better.

It seems that GZ Doom is the way to go... I am in the middle of switching over now... So far it looks good... I mean, it works in GZ Doom so why not?

ok it's alomost done... I did make a release of Alpha 9.5 with music from Map 30 and 17... The Annihilation OS now include Zdoom and GZdoom too...

GZDoom is based off of the ZDoom source code. It uses a lot of the features that Legacy has that ZDoom doesn't, but that doesn't make it a superior version of Legacy, or even based off of it.
Ok, to each his own, but heres why I say what I say:
LEGACY: true 3d, fragglescripts, multiplayer, dehacked
ZDOOM: fake 3d, ACS scripts, separate multiplayer, DECORATE
GZDOOM: fake 3d, true 3d, fragglescripts, ACS scripts, limited multiplayer, decorate, dehacked
much better to me, and a mix of the two...but I may have gotten things mixxed up...
I say that GZDoom is based off of ZDoom beause it looks, fells, and launches like ZDoom, and because the creator of GZDoom says so (http://grafzahl.drdteam.org/index.php?page=topic&id=226) (looks for the multiple Zdoom references and the seeming attachment and dependence it has on it).
GZDoom is based off of legacy. It does use Legacys 3d Floors ;)
Y we arguin? its a mix of the two best (zdoom and legacy) plus some...lets just forget what the base is...and i'm not saying code wise, i'm talking feature wise.
In any regard, I think we should end this now and get back on CQROTQ before this turns into something else.

Er... I'm having trouble getting Legacy to accept the WAD or play it correctly. How do I do that, again? Am I even using the right source port?
I think CQROTQ is meant to run in GZDooM.
I have been having trouble starting this in Legacy it keeps giving me an error saying "R_InitTextures: Missing pacth in texture TR02"
I have tryed it in GZDoom an it works fine.
I aslo notice that the music in levels MAP27, MAP29, MAP30, MAP31, and MAP32 changed back.

Second, would it be too much trouble to include a batch file for GZDoom in your next release? ZDoom and GZDoom aren't as easy as Legacy to specify IWADs and PWADs with, and I really loathe it when I'm handed a mod for one of the two without a good batch file to run it with.

Normaly I can use the luncher.exe from Legacy to run IWADs or PWADs on GZDooM. It works good but it can run .pk3's.
All you need to do is copy and paste the luncher.exe to where your GZDooM folder is and go to Game Mode from the luncher.exe and change the Legacy.exe to GZDooM.exe
Eh... that's a little weird and just plain wasteful. I prefer to do things "the legitimate way", and the best way to do that for me would be a good old fashioned batch file.

It's still a complete Iwad... I use ZDL as well so try that...

I got it! Only problem...I notice that the first level does NOT go well with the set textures...it looks all cobbled together...but the others look more like the older versions, that were just replacing the Freedoom with Chex Quest...IDK, is it suposed to be like that? Here's my batch file:
gzdoom.exe -iwad CQROTQ.wad
It will load, but I notice the TR02 error as well...
the levels were not modified in any way... They are supposed to look like crap. Your not supposed to play the levels unless you want to... It's just there for test purposes, testing weapons and monsters...
use the summon feature to test the monsters, and weapons... To summon monsters type: summon (doommonsternameinsertedhere)

he is complete with a flem gun and a melee attack... to summon type: summon smallposstrobot...

Posst Robot 3 has a triple snot shot and a cloaking device... to summon type: summon smallposstrobot3...
Just to note: it's metal shell is resistant to Dark Matter Zorching... so may take a few hits!
