Hokay, so I was browsing the web on my Wii, when I decided "hey, I should get back into the forums!" And I knew that there were new forums, but in my Wii Favorites, I only saw the old forum, so I accidentally signed up in that one. then I found the NEW forum, and signed up in that, so I checked my mail, and the only validation mail was for the old forum, so I thought maybe it didn't send the email.
so I clicked the "Send validation mail" button, but nothing happened, so I clicked it twice more, this morning, I check my mail, and I have 3 new forum validations, and an old forum validation!
You are now free to post any CQFF related slipups like this.
P.S:The clock on the old forums broken ;D it says "Newest member - Batmanifestdestiny, joined 1 august, 2004."
There was also the time that I was playing the cruddy version of CQ (the one from twocow) and I was like "I know, I'll do CQ2!" so I load up e2m1, and it was a broken tiled map from DooM! but I didn't realise it at first, and I was like "This doesn't look like Chex City!"
Lol! My favorite was the Microsoft fan forums...
I had forgotten it was April 1st, and I walk in and it says that CQFF has been bought out and i was like O_O...then I saw other funny junk and said, Oh its april fools!

How about the time that I accidentally moved a topic to Announcements? Only Administrators can post new topics there, so a new topic wasn't posted there, but SMF didn't think to save the topic, so it deleted it, anyway, and posted the "MOVED" topic. THAT was a fiasco. :D

Heh. Before I joined at the old site, I looked at the rules so I wouldn't do anything wrong. I didn't see anything about bumping, so I went to an old topic in Fan Projects (this was before bumping in Fan Projects was legal) and boldly posted with little more fanfare than the word "bump" placed neatly at the top of my post. Loremaster let me of easy and warned me of he rules, so, given my nature, the first thing I did was bust into Board Issues and bring up the fact that bumping was nowhere in the rules.
One time I performed Necromancey without knowing that it was illegel, and gave new life to a 4 month-old topic :D

Well actually it was kinda my fault cuase i was out of my place to send rushnerd the PM i sent him. And also the staff was VERY mad at me for it. i rember getting the "your not even a moderator your just a project leader speech." and then the"youve been here what 2 months??" speech. i guess i was just more mad at my self during that time. WOW bad memories.

I remember my first day at the forums. I had heard about Lucius' ZorchMatch, and was just about ready to blow someone apart with a Phasing Zorcher. So I bumped a really old topic (I think it was about TUCQ) and said something about Multiplayer, even though that had never even come up in the topic. So then Manny comes rolling along and tells me off for bumping, and gives me a copy of the Board Rules. That was my first post. And then I replied to some other stuff, and Manny kept replying to everything I said, so I called him paranoid, even though he was the only other person on. That was my first encounter with someone on the CQFF.
And now, here I am, a Chex Master, a CQ Multiplayer ST Host, who has only been on this forum for three months. Livin la vida loca. in my dreams

you know, the CQFF used to be really small, but now it's getting pretty big.
I realize the situation was completely insane and slightly traumatizing for the CQFF generation who experienced it, but looking back, I always thought it was super funny how speaking Dragon Master's name was on the same level as saying Lord Voldemort's in a Harry Potter world. :-X

Eh, i would lol, but the severity of the situation restricts me.
As I understand, he was all talk, and no game, threatening to unleash viruses and stuff. Dangerous thing to hear from an administrator....
oh...not good.
He turned out to be all talk as far as the viruses go but he definitely caused a ton of problems. Our old board's Admin CP was not as robust so we had to manually keep track of all of DM's alts and figure out if Tilple (an old school member) was apart of it (he was not). I believe he also messed around with the forums, creating his own sub forums and abusing his admin powers. He made a lot of threats, all empty, but threats none the less. It freaked everyone out for a while. Fortunately, typing out "dragon master" here does not have the same effect it once had.
good. I would hate that to happen here.
(Atari didn't know then, that his name would become just as bad only a few months later, when he went on his own forum rampage, effectively destorying the entire chex quest area.)
I am kidding, I tend to do that to people, even in RL. (Especially batmanifestdestiny) Narrating RL and making up future events is FUN.
Why does it seem that most members of this board are attracted to FAILING. No one can keep away from it! If you can forecast someones life to be horrible, you do it! If you can get on their nerves with Desu, you do it! If you can FAIL them for normal stuff (like I didn't know, so I post "what is it?"...then get FAIL'd), YOU BLOODY WELL DO IT. This forum is a failing grounds for poor lurkers and people well off the beaten path of life...

Dragon Master...it said something 'bout him in the history of the CQFF, but I don't feel a chill run down my spine. I only got here a few months ago, anyways.
About the worse I've seen is the spam incident that occurred a month or two after I joined on the old board. I think he ran around under the names "DarkArachnotron" and "Willis", just to name two. Then there's wayc incident.
Which unfortunately were not very funny. :-\

Ah, I remember when Manny, one of the Global Moderators, started telling stories about these incidents that happened many moons ago, long before my time. However, one of our admins, brain candy, was able to shift Manny back into the topic, which was supposed to be about funny stories. Manny was then extremely embarrased for going off-topic, as he was now going to be called a hypocrite. And the CQFF continued happily ever after.
Those were the days...
To be fair, I believe I started us down that path. 8)

Hmm... if someone was a major Halo or Unreal Tournament Geek, they could make a CQ Mod for one of those, revamped graphics and everything! However, I happen to hate Halo and do not have Unreal Tournament, so that would not be me.
