Title: Solution to Fragmented WADs
Post by: matthias720 on January 09, 2009, 11:51:59 PM
Has anyone thought of taking smaller CQ WADs, and combining them together to make a Mega-WAD?
I don't have the expertise to do something like that, but it would certenly make it easier to find new levels to play.

Hai! Welcome to the CQFF!

There has been talk...but I do believe that it is better to have separate wads for each project. (Though a standard IWAD would be nice...)

But it would be nice, no doubt...

I think the project makers like to work on their own mods and keep them separate. ;)

The main reason I suggested this, is that I noticed that quite a few WADs have only 4-8 levels.
It can be a pain in the neck to jump from WAD to WAD to play all these great levels, while avoiding
all the Questified DOOM levels.

We should start a community project called "best levels of chex quest" that has all the best levels of any of the projects thats all i can think of :).

EDIT: yes i am aware that i am bad at making names -_-......and a little at ideas

that could be possible...but with the consent of the mappers...

also, some are VERY detailed...The Lost Quest currently has only 3 maps, but couldn't be mixed with something like TNCQ:G2 due to the different items...would be very hard to do it right.

Agreed.  That would be tough.

And TNCQ G2 and CQ G2 have quite a few levels, for Slime is rather a prolific mapper.  Why not take them for a spin?

But a general Best Of... has been discussed; we could try to get a community project up.
