Title: [OLD] Doombuilder 2 Config memory problems - fixed!
Post by: 75 on September 19, 2010, 03:53:13 PM
EDIT-

This doesn't apply to the newest config

If you're wondering what caused this, putting spaces in config file names causes doombuilder to not be able to remember settings like Default IWAD, etc.

Oh thats weird, because Windows 7 remembered the setting even with the spaces. Wow. I had no idea what kind of background stuff they updated in 7.

Spoiler of Loudness:
x86 BIT?!

I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THERE WAS SUCH A THING!
anyway, yeah, that just might be your problem. I used x64 bit on either Home Premium or Professional; don't remember which.

x86 is just 32 bit, noob! (jk)  ;D

Man, I'd have the most 1337 computer ever if it was 86 bit.

How does that work? 86 -> 32... Just doesn't compute for me.

Dang, though, that would be awesome.

Anyways, i don't really know why it worked for me. Maybe just luck?  :-\

x86 refers to the family of instruction set architectures based on the Intel 8086. The 8086 was a 16-bit chip, but the term "x86" became popular after the introduction of the i386, which was a 32-bit chip.

However, the modern 64-bit processors are still based on the x86 architecture. To differentiate the new ones, they call them x86-64, or simply x64.

So now you know. That's your computer history lesson for today. Class dismissed.

This has been fixed quite a while ago, so I'm locking it.  Right now it's not helpful and might even mess people up who are trying to get the config working.
